Q & A with Lizzie Chantree

Who is Lizzie Chantree? From her biography and social media presence, she could be mistaken for Wonder Woman. Where does she find the time?

An author, inventor, businesswoman, creative entrepreneur, mother… Yep, I was right. She is Wonder Woman. Just look at this…

Lizzie is an award winning author, inventor and businesswoman. She founded her first company at the age of 17 and has been creating products and driving her family mad ever since!

Lizzie appeared on Sky News, ITV Lunchtime News, This Morning, The Big Breakfast, BBC’s Worldwide Radio Service, amongst others for becoming one of Fair Play London’s Female Innovators. Lizzie was also a Judge on Shell LiveWire’s Grand Ideas Award.

Lizzie lives with her gorgeous family and a very unusual dog. In between the school run and baking cakes (or burning them!), she sits in her rooftop studio daydreaming about quirky businesses and the romantic escapades of the entrepreneurs that run them. She is the author of sizzling beach read Babe Driven, Award winning romance novel; Love’s Child and Finding Gina, which is a mystical romance. Lizzie’s new book, Ninja School Mum will be published by Crooked Cat on 30th Jan 2018.

And on top of that? Her new novel

NINJA SCHOOL MUM

is due for release January 30th 2018 – Pre orders available here:

I decided to find out a little more about Ms. Chantree. Lizzie Chantree - Author

Q & A

#1 – As a writer, which books or authors have had the most influence on your writing style?

I love many modern romance writers like, Lisa Jewell or Katie Fforde. I enjoy books with humour and romance.

#2 – As with films, I can enjoy a good book several times. In your library, which books do you go back to and why?

I try to read a variety of books, from travel stories to technology. But I often go back to romance. It’s not always about relationships between couples, but also friendships and people who work together. I’m fascinated by the interaction between people in stories and real life.

#3 – What has been the best money you’ve ever spent as a writer? (Apart from coffee!)

My computer, I spend so many hours sitting in front of it. It helps to ease my workload.

#4 – How did it feel signing your first book contract with Crooked Cat Publishers for “Ninja School Mum”?

It felt amazing! I had been offered two other contracts but this was the first one I signed. This publisher felt like the right fit for my work. I didn’t go out and celebrate, but I intend to when I hold the first copy of my new paperback in my hand.

#5 – Do you stick to a writing regime? Or do you write on the fly?

I try and fit as much time in as I can, but as all writers know, marketing creeps into your day and takes over. I also have to work around family commitments, so I sometimes write in my car, at after school clubs, in coffee shops, and wherever I can find a quiet corner. If there’s coffee and cake… it’s a bonus!

#6 – You offer some very good advice on your Blog. Especially the Quick Book marketing Tips. Which of these tips have been useful to you?

Networking is a great marketing tool. Also, keywords. You can add keywords to your blogs, reviews, meta tags and more.

#7 – You’re obviously a very talented young lady, but what would you say is your strongest attribute?

Thanks for the compliment! I would say it was my ideas. My head is full of them and I really enjoy supporting others, hopefully helping them along their journey with the things I’m learning on mine.

#8 – And finally… Your upcoming book launch of NINJA SCHOOL MUM, Terrifying? Or Exciting?

Both! It’s so exciting, but totally terrifying. It’s a lot of work, but worth the effort. I’m nervous to see what the reception to my new book will be, but can’t wait for people to read it. 🙂

Thank you, Lizzie Chantree. An inspiration to us all.

She may not be Wonder Woman but she certainly works hard at helping and supporting others. And if you still want to know more about this amazing author, check out the following links:

Really? Oh, alright then. Let's talk about me! Born and bred in the U.K. I've been lucky enough to have travelled the world as a professional singer/songwriter/musician. I also completed a course at the National Film and Television School in the U.K. Now retired from performing, my creative streak and passion for writing produced 'The Sexy M.F. Series', my first endeavour as an author, a trilogy in the contemporary adult romance genre. Writing is a passion, along with music, cake, reading, chocolate, witty banter, and a good movie. Thanks for visiting my blog. ;-) For more information, please drop in at my website.
